Works well when
Small corrections are easier because a full turn takes more travel. At 160 eDPI a full turn takes about 81.6 cm; at 100 eDPI about 130.6 cm.
Breaks down when
It only works if your desk gives you that space. At 160 eDPI you need roughly 82 cm of usable mouse travel; on a typical 45 cm pad you cannot finish a turn without lifting.
Instead
Compare your cm/360 with your mouse pad width. If a full turn needs more space than the pad offers, raise the value instead of forcing a low one.
200 to 400
Works well when
Most dated pro references on this page sit inside the band, and a full turn takes 32.7 to 65.3 cm. It is a practical set of test points.
Breaks down when
The band is a starting point, not a rule. Two values inside it can still feel different when grip, arm-versus-wrist aim, or pad size differ.
Instead
Pick one target inside the band (200, 280, or 400), test it in The Range or Deathmatch, then adjust in small steps.
Above 400
Works well when
A full turn takes less travel — about 32.7 cm at 400 eDPI and 16.3 cm at 800 eDPI — so fast turns and flicks need less arm movement.
Breaks down when
The same small hand movement moves the crosshair farther, so fine corrections get harder. The faster the turn, the less room you have for micro-adjustments.
Instead
Keep the value only if it feels controlled. Test whether quick movement costs you corrections you can repeat, and check your results in Deathmatch.

Valorant eDPI formula and cm/360
Valorant eDPI equals mouse DPI multiplied by Valorant Sensitivity: Aim. At 800 DPI and 0.35 sensitivity, the result is 280 eDPI. Use the base hipfire value; scoped and ADS multipliers are separate settings.
This calculator uses the Valorant yaw value of 0.07. cm/360 is (360 × 2.54) ÷ (DPI × sensitivity × 0.07). At 280 eDPI, one full 360° turn takes about 46.7 cm of mouse travel.

Higher eDPI is always better for flicks
Higher eDPI shortens a full turn — 400 eDPI takes 32.7 cm, 800 eDPI takes 16.3 cm — but it also makes small corrections harder. The dated pro references above include 160 eDPI (Demon1), 280 eDPI (zekken), and 296 eDPI (aspas), so 200 to 400 is only a starting band, not a verdict.
The same eDPI number means the same feel in every game
eDPI only compares settings inside Valorant. Other games use different sensitivity scales and yaw values, so the same number does not produce the same turn distance. Use the sensitivity converter to match cm/360 across games instead.
