Is ADS 1.0 the same as 1:1?

No. Except at 1x, leaving ADS at 1.0 makes the zoomed turn longer than hipfire.

1:1 means the same cm/360 as hipfire. That multiplier is 1 ÷ FOV scale, not 1.0.

On 2x (FOV scale 0.90), enter 1.111—not 1.0.

6x, 8x, and 10x need more than 2. Enter 2; the turn stays longer than hipfire.

What does 800 DPI × 1.6 look like?

Example inputs: 800 DPI and 1.6 hipfire sensitivity.

  • 4x — within the slider

    Enter 1.818. ADS turn distance is 32.47 cm/360—same as hipfire under this rule.

  • 6x — hits the cap

    Enter 2.000. ADS turn distance is 40.59 cm/360.

4x can match because its multiplier stays under the slider max. 6x would need 2.500 for that match, above Apex's 2 maximum.

Use the 4x value when you want equal cm/360. The 6x value is the closest Apex allows; the turn stays longer than hipfire.

How does Apex ADS sensitivity work?

Each optic scales FOV differently. This calculator uses Apex's published per-optic FOV scale and multiplier rule for mouse and keyboard, then shows what you can actually enter.

How is each multiplier calculated?

ADS angular sensitivity = hipfire sensitivity × FOV scale × per-optic multiplier.

To keep the same cm/360, the theoretical multiplier is 1 ÷ FOV scale.

The results table shows that theoretical value, the value you can enter, and whether it stays within the 2 slider maximum.

Why can't 6x, 8x, and 10x hit true 1:1?

When the theoretical multiplier is above Apex's 2 slider maximum, this page shows 2 as the value to enter and marks the optic Capped. ADS cm/360 stays longer than hipfire—a full 1:1 match is not available under this rule.

How to Use

    Find Your Mouse DPI

    Open your mouse software and confirm the active DPI value.

    Enter Your Hipfire Sensitivity

    In Apex Legends > Settings > Mouse/Keyboard, copy your base Mouse Sensitivity value, not an ADS multiplier.

    Apply the Per-Optic Multipliers

    Enable 'Per Optic ADS Sensitivity' in Apex's mouse settings. Enter each calculated multiplier into the matching zoom level (1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 6x, 8x, 10x).

    Test in the Firing Range

    Test the settings in game. A result marked 1:1 has equal hipfire and ADS cm/360 under the disclosed rule.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is ADS 1.0 the same as 1:1 in Apex?

No. Only 1x matches at 1.0. Every other optic uses 1 ÷ FOV scale. If that number is above the slider max, you enter the max and it is not 1:1.

What is the ADS mouse sensitivity multiplier in Apex?

It is the per-optic value you type after you turn on Per Optic ADS Sensitivity. This page gives the value to enter for each zoom.

Why are 6x, 8x, and 10x capped?

Their 1:1 multiplier is above Apex's slider maximum. The closest value is that maximum, so ADS cm/360 stays longer than hipfire.
